I wonder where the word poop came from?

i don't know where it actually came from, but apparently in the early 1700's it meant "a short blast from a horn", before it meant 'to *bleep*'

so i assume before people said "horns make a 'toot toot' sound" they'd say "they make a 'poop poop' sound"


i assume it's that kind of word that is supposed to imitate a sound, i can't remember what those are called -- onamonapea?
