There is no dought the Sage Grouse are dwindeling. We have hunted the Frenchman River Valley since the 50's, well that is when we were lucky enough to get drawn for Mule Deer or Antelope, and flocks are now gone where we use to see them years ago. Why, well I suppose a number of things, Coyotes could be a issue, but I would suspect loss of habitat would be one of the big culprits. Hopefully it is a natural cycle and there will be a recouvery in coming years but it don't look good. Hunters are not to blame, hunters are one of the best contributers to wild life there are, contributing through licence sales etc. for the retention of habiat.
